Triton Transport Ltd (formerly Avonvale Transport Ltd) started as a one-truck operation in 1987.  Avonvale primarily hauled contractor’s equipment in and around the Vancouver area. Using the momentum of Vancouver’s thriving home construction industry the business grew steadily, necessitating a move to a permanent facility in Port Coquitlam in 1994.

Continuing the urge to expand and diversify, by 1997, Avonvale was looking to move into the mining and forestry sectors of the heavy haul industry as well as expanding our geographic range. Joe Bragg became a partner in the company, bringing with him an abundance of experience in multi-jurisdictional heavy haul trucking. To reflect the new ownership structure and increased scope of the company, Avonvale Transport became Triton Transport Ltd. in 1998.

A 1999 move took the company to Langley BC providing 5 acres of storage space and a rail spur for intermodal movements of large industrial and mobile heavy equipment. Since 2000 there has been a steady increase in demand for our services heading from the west coast ports of BC and Washington state to the oil and gas industry of northern Alberta. Triton was also expanding its services within Alberta and the northern regions – culminating in opening our Edmonton facility in 2006 and Calgary in 2014. Triton’s rapidly expanding deck division also started in 2007, supporting our heavy haul capabilities as well as providing open-deck legal-weight trucking services throughout North America.

Triton Transport is now the largest heavy haul carrier in BC, and is a significant player in Alberta and the prairies and is the only heavy haul carrier with facilities in Alberta and coastal British Columbia. Triton trucks travel throughout Canada and the continental USA. In July, 2014 head office relocated to a new facility, strategically located in Chilliwack B.C., with easy access to the Trans-Canada Highway, the US border, Vancouver Ports, and the industrial areas of Southern B.C. Triton Transport is poised to carry on its 30 year tradition of sustainable growth, long-term success, and building new opportunities in the heavy haul industry.
